Submissions on the Draft Education Bill

Help & Shelter and Red Thread joined to make submissions on the Draft Education Bill.

One key issue was the removal of corporal punishment from the Bill.

The second submission deals with other matters pertaining to the administration of education.

This submission was made to the Commission to highlight the problems of the response ofthe Guyana Police Force to the following
:a)
Child Abuse – where children are victims of different forms of abuse
b) Domestic Violence – specifically incidents of male partner violence against their female partners
c) Rape & sexual assault and to recommend some actions.
